I agree with that, locally I already took the code and put some "#ifdef ELM" here and there, in fact around the iso_*() functions, and I use the Arduino IDE built-in serial port monitoring to send by hand the answer like "41 01 nn nn" in response to the pid asked by the duino board, then on the LCD I can "see" the result and all.
I'll order an ELM327 asap.
