I actually run custom shiny-aluminium window panels in summer on my Renault during summer. Makes a huge difference.
To make them, I took windshield-reflective-screens and cut them and mounted them on cardboard then sealed them with duct-tape. They'd clip into the rear windows to block out the heat. They'd unclip when not needed as well.
I got a temperature difference of 20-degrees c. Meaning that I can keep the interior under 30-degrees-celsius when the outside temperature is 47/48-degrees C. Yes it did get that hot last summer.
Just drove around like it wasn't even hot.
