Read up on the 4.2 and looks like it gets the same MPG as a more updated 5.0 or Modular 4.6... The smaller 3.8 out of a 2000s mustang might be more promising.
Also the 2.3 turbo idea would be hella cool. Very unique and would be cool at car shows and such. Doesn't look like it would be all that much more efficient sadly, besides saving on weight. Still fun idea.
