most of the lithium "mines" are open pit evaporation lakes out on an old playa / dry lakebed. the anodes and cathodes are mostly common materials, with weird etchings. possibly the only things not recyclable are the pouches and seperator materials made from oil stocks.

so I fail to see the point.
