I'm a little skeptical because it's in the wind shadow of the center peak. That may cut it's efficiency in half. Technically it's a Gurney flap or wickerbill, look those up; I forget what situation they are used for.

I see the rivets that show it has a center bar. I have four 14" square vents. What I use for closure is a full 36 inch piece of 1/8th inch welding rod curved in the center for 19 1/2 inches so it will slip over the center bar. The tails are bent at 90° to each other (aids in install/removal) and so they lay flat against the ceiling. I can't imagine them pulling through, but there is certainly opportunity to double up.
