Not that dealing with an old-school Diesel injection system would be "easy" at all, but since carburettors and ignition systems were also quite labor-intensive it might have helped so many farmers throughout the world whose first contact with an internal combustion engine was in a tractor to prefer Diesel engines. But anyway, at least until some 20 years ago, the combination of a Diesel engine with an automatic transmission outside the U.S. used to be quite uncommon.
