Must be lucky where i live as fence i have has been up 13 years. Concrete set posts in peat. Where i live on north scottish coast wind speeds of 80-100 mph are normal winter wind speeds. During the 18hours of day light in summer the wood gets salt dried. Paint gets stripped of every year with snow and hail. Ao perhaps i should not bother painting it. Use a wood stain paint which soaks into the wood.
