What Frank said works for me too. If I know it is going to be cold I can throw an old blanket over the engine after I shut it off. I put a blanket over my lap and legs for extra warmth. I may try keeping a foam seat cushion inside or put a rice bag in the microwave when I am ready to leave. With my touring style fairing on my mountain bike I get up to 'operating temperature' in about half the time as in the minivan.
