I'm a retired public school teacher. All 20 years were in the same small school where I taught math and science, every thing from 7th grade math to physics at one time or another. Before teaching, I was a geophysicist for a major oil exploration company.
I have alway been a car guy. My first car was a 1949 Ford two door sedan, with overdrive. If I could not fix it, I had to walk. My present cars are a 2000 Ford ZX2 S/R and a 1994 Mazda Miata M Edition. I try to drive in such a way that I can optimize my fuel economy (unless I am on an autocross course).
I autocross both cars in stock classes. Therefore, I want each car to remain SCCA stock class eligible. That mean no mods that I can not undo quickly after I arrive at an event.
