Were you running from that 747?

The only times that I have run one mile and timed it were when I was in the Guard and had failed to maintain myself, but my best two-mile time [in PT shoes] was around 15:00, so I am going to argue that at no point in my military career could I have maintained a 5:15 mile, regardless of footwear.

I never needed to attempt to out-run certain death, although I did work for six weeks in a group home. One day, my client was acting weird, managed to get a very big knife, and ran away. I followed procedure, immediately called my supervisor, and followed her instructions.

I was fired the next day.

However, until the lead staff showed up, I participated in some highly motivated short sprints.
