I’m told winter fuel is a 4% decrease in energetic content.
Control of coolant temp is the problem. Use of a complete winter front is necessary to keep temps at normal. That’s just below thermostat opening temp while running solo. But add in ascents and/or higher travel speeds, thermostat might open.
WF on mine is underhood and completely covers radiator yoke and all heat exchangers wall to wall and floor to ceiling. Adjustable flaps at center open/close.
FWIW, I lose 20% on average between 59 and 70/mph run speeds. The absolute numbers look nice, but it’s that percentage change that matters.
