I remember when the Miata was first released. I bought a 1969 Camaro from a guy for $3000 and he told me he was buying a Miata brand new which was the first year it was made. I seen him driving the Miata a few months later. I remember they sold for more than list when they were first released because it was a really HOT car when they first were released. It really was an instant classic car from day one. Wildly popular through the years and used prices are actually cheap to me depending on year and condition.
I actually bought a 1992 Miata all dented up in non running condition here for $500 about five years ago. I sold it just to make quick money because all that was wrong with it was a cheap part that prevented it from starting. It was too beat for me personally to keep it.
My 1991 Lexus LS400 I bought for $1200. I however knew it needed money dumped into it before I bought it. I read a buyers guide on LS400's and every problem listed in the buyers guide was wrong with the car I bought. I know 1990 to 1994 LS400's extremely well now having driven one 52,000 miles. Mine has been gone through quite a bit with many new parts put on the car. Engine and transmissions are really rock solid on the LS400 as long as it was properly maintained and not abused. I have driven several new rental cars on vacations that are not as nice as my old Lexus concerning road noise. I am used to the quietness of the LS400.
