Sparkie the volt has driven 400,000 trouble free miles on plain ol 87 octane
Volt is rated for e15 or if your worried
Add a $35 ethanol sensor and retune the volt for Gen II Prius economy

Main reason for 91 octane requirement is economy, that said the new tune pushes 50mpg on premium at lower highway speeds if that interests you.
