Well China is famous for knock-off products and "borrowing" IP. They have knock-offs of knock-offs. While we rarely see a knock-off vehicle in North America, I bet it's commonplace in China. Wouldn't be surprised if they have look-alike Teslas with cheap internals and lower performance.

Some of their knock-off products are quite good. I'm a fan of most all of Xiaomi products, which can be superior to the products they replicated. Their floor vacuuming robot is getting rave reviews, with many saying the $250 robot outperforms Roomba's $850 top of the line product. I'm wearing a $15 fitness band that tracks sleep, steps, and HR, and it holds up better than Fitbit bands.
