One problem with bigger cars is that they take more fuel to move. Usually. As long as they're heavy.

But technology is closing the gap:


Apologies for the INCREDIBLY dirty screen... don't have a duster in the car, she's a loaner.

Civic 1.5 turbo. Fuel economy on a non-flat highway is phenomenal. 25.3 km/l, or 59 mpg at an average 50+ mph with the AC blasting. The end points, at just 18-25 mpg don't seem spectacular, but they're in city traffic, so that's not bad. I typically get less in the Civic's naturally aspirated competitors.

So yeah, 2017 Civic, as big as a 1997 Accord, but helluvalot more economical.
