2014 Toyota camery warm air intake

My friend has a 2014 Toyota camery, complaining that now that it's cold out the fuel economy is in the can.
Going from mid 30s to barely 30.
I was changing the oil in her car and noticed I can pull the air intake off that draws in cold outside air and have it draw warm engine compartment air.

It's just removing two 10mm bolts and toss the air intake in the boot.

First tank she says when she starts it the high idle goes away sooner and now it's back up to 34mpg.

I'm sure this applies to other years also. I just don't know what years are made like this.
Maybe get it sorted out and change the title to 201x through 201x Toyota camery warm air intake
