Just reading the thread about semi- "dead heading" boat tails and was reminded of recent grants in Canada to test fairings for semi trailers (like those in the links below) - now I'm wondering if they wouldn't pay off big time for the rail roads too - even more so since rail lines are so well and consistently designed that fairings could be far more precisely designed themseves (ie extending to within inches of the rail).
