Well, the 2018 Toyota Corolla rental the insurance company is paying for which is brand new (173 miles on the odo when I picked it up) is at 39mpg and climbing, though only rated at 36 highway
I love it's fuel economy read out, it's engine rpm, throttle/load based and not purely numerical, has a nice bar graph that responds very quickly to slight modulation of the throttle.
