It's still a good event, but I think it peaked 15 years ago and has been on a slow decline.
My car show buddy went without me this year and said it was very disappointing, everyone was cutting back to save money. And all the exotic marquees were missing, Fiat owned was as as fancy as it got, and nowhere near a full corporate line up.
My buddy is into European makes, and none of the Brits bothered to show up.
If you are into the domestic brands, it's still good.
I think he said Tesla didn't show up.
About 15 years ago the basement of Cobo was filled with microcars and the like, it was the best part for lovers of the strange and exotic, nothing like that in over a decade - pretty hum-drum nowadays.

front quarter angle), but wasn't bad at any angle.
I don't think any of the big wigs bother with the unwashed masses these days, the big gala party with celebrities and the press the day before is what they seem to care about now.
