Welp, it was decision making time...too many contraptions taking up too much space. The little yellow electric "bike" (scooter) was chosen as the loser. Decided it was not worth saving, nor a safe or useful design even if I did. It was also the cheapest of my collection; I got more out of it in parts than I paid for it.
I first messed around with some basic tests using it as a generator. I happened to have a 3-phase rectifier/regulator from my motorcycle laying around. Even at the paltry rpm the tiny sprocket on the pedals had, it had no issue getting over 12v being pedaled by hand. I went full out by hand and got it over 30, even. A larger sprocket would easily get it to 48v or more at an easy pedaling speed.
Decided it might look better disrobed.
Not much of an improvement.
Took it down farther...here's the real prize:
Might turn it in to a pusher. More likely in to a pedal generator.
I'm not sure if this is a prize or not...it's 14" long! That's how wide this thing was! How are you supposed to pedal that?
And you might note, I cut the brackets for the bearings off. No going back now!
Have a nice collection of spare parts now:
400w Motor
48v Charger
Regen Controller.
Various 48v bulbs.
Controls/throttle.
Front and rear shock.
Chain with a master link on it.
2x spare 16" tires. (they aren't cheap! yet very common size for these things)
Miscellaneous electrical wiring, connectors, etc.
Of course it's all taking up more space than it did before.
Sigh.
