It's really great how you guys have hit some high points on my list of concerns! Great minds, eh?
So, I ended up buying a 2008 VW Rabbit 2.5L 6speed automatic.
Having an automatic was important to me, because I learned how to drive a stick on a 1983 Ford Bronco Dually diesel farm truck. Ever since then it's been nothing but peel out for me for probably the first 25 yards of driving in a passenger car or sports car. I remember trying to drive my wife's 2009 Ford Mustang LHD (which was driven mostly in the British Isles up to this point, mind you) once in Miami Beach. I got some attention from the bicycle cops instantly!
I needed something tiny, tinted (because I live in West Texas), and drove comfortably and highway speeds. I feel pretty good about it so far. I'm starting a new tank of gas tomorrow morning! I'll be posting pictures and stuff as Well!
