If people are reasonable in 200 years, they will consider that we did the best with what we knew to do at the time. They should also realize that their advanced way of life didn't appear out of a vacuum, but instead was built upon a crazy number of incremental improvements.

We don't look back on doctors during the Civil War who amputated every wound as monsters, instead we realize they did the best with what they knew at the time.
