Any suggestions for used SUVs that get reasonable fuel economy? I've always liked the Lexus RX 450h, and I hear the CR-V is regarded well. My sister has a 2008 CRV she would let go for a very nice price.

Sucks about your company yanking the rug out from under you :/

Thanks for the feedback. I figure I can make just about any vehicle work, and I already have a Prius Plug-in, which should make for an excellent family hauler. I've always liked minivans due to their utility and amenities. I'd be interested in a Pacifica plug-in when used ones hit the market, but somehow minivans still end up being expensive used. My preference is to not exceed $17,000, which is what I paid for my Acura back in 2010.
I have some serious complaints about my job right now and have been extremely stressed, but I have to say compensation is not among my complaints. The company car was a nice perk while it lasted, but I agree with their move to take them away from us "remote" software support engineers. I'll still get reimbursed the federal rate for business miles put on my personal vehicle. Also nice having a personal vehicle because I can loan it out to anyone, whereas the company vehicle can only be driven by my wife and I.
