Zuck sucks, but I support his right to own a terrible social media platform, and for people to make bad decisions on it.
Shapiro was commenting today that Facebook is increasingly meeting the definition of a journalistic company. A business cannot be held legally liable if they simply allow transmittal of libal, copyrighted works, etc, over their communication medium, but if they apply algorithms that shape the content that is viewed, they approach something more akin to a news outlet, which is responsible for the content they distribute.
All that said, I have had a Facepalm account since the days where you could only "friend" people that go to the same school as you. I was first spooked by Facebook when one day while playing Pandora, it said that one of my friends liked the same song that I was listening to. I had never explicitly given Facepalm or Pandora permission to commingle.
I've also never "liked" anything. I knew its purpose was no good, especially if there is no "dislike" button.
