If the cracks was due the resin (what resin ? Epoxy ???) It would probably happen too. But fiberglass can be fized for such thing.

Look the hemp car under impact :



There are details a bit strange, since Ford didn't used hemp cloths but pprobably hemp fibers tritured, and not in the maximun percentage possible for best resistance. So this test maybe isn't valid for the real Ford, but anyway it's very strong.
