I bet their thinking they're going to cash in on the whole hybrid crossover market that's starting to pop up. Even Toyota has acknowledged that they sell way more Rav4 hybrids than Priuses. If they can make crossovers get better gas mileage than having to sell slow-selling high mileage sedans for large portions off of MSRP then they win. They brought back all their small sedans from Europe to help hit MPG targets since they hadn't wanted to do the mass implementation of hybrids. Hell... Toyota has an 8 seater hybrid SUV that gets 30mpg combined.
Get ready for the same from Ford along with a hybrid F150 to be at the front line with job site power plugs built in!
Remember how everyone belly-ached that their 3.5 ecoboost would be the top engine? Now all you see is the 3.5 ecoboost since it gets the highest towing along with fantastic gas mileage now.
It is kinda a bummer now for any budget minded family now because the american manufacturers in a year or two will have just about no options under 20k for purchase anymore. They said the Japs win we wave the white flag! haha
