Mine was an absolute rustbucket 6 years ago. I fixed some holes with glass mats and resin, but when the fuel tank started to leak I had enough and sold it.
In the cold season i keep it inside the warmish garage so i dont have to scrape my windows 5.00 in the morning
My almera is pretty badly rusted in the back corners, planning on welding it during this summer. Maybe get it inspected one last time. If not, scrap. 275k kms on the odo now.
It has the 1.4 engine which also has slightly longer gears.

So, to the original topic, better leave those holes open then?
