New models don't just appear like mushrooms after a rain. There's a long lead time for RnD. Even if they're still gearing up their current new model, the next model BETTER be in the works or they would stuck with a several year gap after it is profitable where they won't be able to compete in the CUV market.

Likewise, designers are different than production engineers. After the new model goes from one step to the next, they don't just fire the whole design group because they're not needed...
