I do not remember living in anywhere in the U.S. with potholes until now. Planting trees would be nice, although I am more concerned with planting some among the 732 square miles burned during the Rodeo–Chediski Fire over a decade ago. Afterwards they dumped 50,000,000 pounds of grass seeds, so it is one huge lawn.

I thought forests were supposed to have trees...

I have read that if you graffiti something offensive the city needs to fix it, but I do not care to risk legal problems just to fix one or more potholes.
