The reason people are critical of you isn't necessarily because they are targeting you as being particularly in need of criticism, but rather that you share more than anyone else and that always leaves room for commentary. If you share a problem in a room of mostly men, we're going to offer solutions. Merely listening is more of a female trait.
There is no such thing as enduring too much honesty. Our society has the opposite problem of not being tough enough to handle the truth, or brave enough to speak it.
Opinions should be taken to heart, not ignored. They are either untrue, which can be ignored, or true, which can be difficult, but necessary for development.
