Probably aluminum would be the easiest way to get some semblance of a body on it - there are quite a few on the evalbum that have aluminum bodies.

Fabric would be in interesting option, but you'd have to find someone familiar with pre -50's airplanes to show you how to stretch and dope the fabric to make it look good. Fabric is also a bit more flammable than I'd care for.
