I use my dishwasher to wash dishes.

Just scrape any big chunks and stick them right in there.

Run it and they come out clean as anything. Prewashing is for chumps stuck in the 70's (or with 70's dishwashers).

Also good to stick your sponge in there occasionally. The high heat keeps it from getting mildewy.

I like to cook... you can stick dirty dishes/utensils in there as you go and they'll be out of the way of the countertops and sink. One reasonably complex meal will just about fill the machine with various pans, serving dishes, mixing bowls, etc. I'd rather lose my microwave than my dishwasher.
