I think I figured some of it out.
As I suspected the tire shop didn't fill the new tires any where near 40psi.
The yokos were at 34psi.
The old ecopia tires weren't far off. They were at 36psi.
Vehicle name plate says 36psi.

So I aired the ecopia tires back up to 42 and Yokohama tires up to 38 because I don't want to wear the center of the yokos tread out at 2/3 to 3/4 their life expectancy.
A full set of yokos is going to run at least $500.

Wearing then out sooner to get better economy makes no sense when electricity is so cheap.
Only getting 70% to 80% of your money's worth out of a set of tires = dumb.
