33 month industrial shrink wrap skin suitability update

All is good, mileage is showing mid to upper 20's on gps spot checks @65-80mph. the only places showing any signs of uv degradation is in the locations where it got too hot while shrinking it( near burn through) . Same as the V 1.0. These overheated areas would be considered assembly defects and not allowed in a final production item. I left theas in as test points. The thermal welded points have survived on the perimeter, no delamination so far. Indicating a successful solution for an engineering failure/unknown on my part. A couple of the patches applyed show signs of either not hot enough or too hot and delaminated from the skin surface, 90% of the patches remain intact with no loss of bonding. The perimeter thermal welding has a UV protection in the skin layer to the outside. As well as a layer of mylar attached to the half inch thick styrofoam insulation has kept 100% of the perimeter thermal weld out of direct sunlight. I believe these 3 things have contributed to the UV stability of the thermal weld on the perimeter of V1.2 at 3X the test period with out fail. Keeping a role of tape and a tarp at the ready, no signs of need yet,LOL.

I also tested the 6"wide shrink wrap tape. Found in Full size pick up air dam . Quick and dirty prototyping. the tape is not UV stabilized .
By 1 year it had cracked and lifted from glue/foam uv failure were exposed cron checks/cracks .

The Blue foam bord had started turning brown from direct sun exposure as small bits disappeared.

If the air foil had any effects is unknowen . The effects were too small to see out side of normal tank to tank noise on spot checks with GPS (odo broken so I am only checking out of town long runs in excess of 3 gal./100+mi.)
