I do not even know how big the iEx screen is. How big is the notch? People also love the 18:9 ratio, which gives them a taller screen, without making their phone wider. So, that is catching on, and so is the notch. Here are twenty Android phones with that abomination, although I believe that all of them are smaller. Two phones have "Teardrops" that only hide the selfish camera. Some even have a 19:9 display:

Apple tried to integrate the fingerprint scanner into the screen, but could not make it work. There are phones with fingerprint sensors on the back, but many people like to have their phones flat on a desk or table, which does not work with face recognition, either, which was what Apple tried. However, that technology did not work any better than the screen-based fingerprint scanner did, so Apple was not able to sell as many phones as they wanted.

Android companies have since figured out how to make a fingerprint scanner work in the screen and one of those notch phones listed at SmartPrix has it.
One of those webpages said that the the 8 was only a 7s, so arguably they skipped the 7 and 8. Is this the same marketing gimmick as Win10? No.*
