Due for tires in about 1000 miles (109k on them now) Planning on going up 1" in diameter. Unfortunately that will also bring back 20# of rotating mass I shed previously. Reason for the bump? Reduced RPMs...
I'd previously run this size tire and while running it (also an AT tire), was regularly getting 21~22 mpg often. With the current size tire and before all the updates, I was happy to get 20 and was generally in the 19-20 mpg range. Time will tell if it is a good choice or not. The tire has a 60 DAY return policy since it is a new tire to the market. Hope I don't have to leverage that.
Also, FWIW, after the bet was finished I went back and fixed 2 areas of the tune that I found needed to be fixed. 1st tank after that gave my my 2nd best tank ever @ 23.257 mpg (vented tank so always filled to the fill neck). And that was not a 100% max effort (hit mid 60's on freeway 2~3x). Last weekend I tweeked it again for IAT compensation below 80*f and could easily feel the SOTP change in power (took 2 downloads to get it right). Attempting another 100% max effort but have already been thrown heavy rains & winds so who knows now. Tank still looks awesome. After that... soon, back to aero mods under the truck.
edit: Also, to re-state... before all these mods, I managed 23.00x mpg just 1x on those 1" taller tires, now I have 5 tanks in the last 6~7 weeks.
