Don't get upset because your not doing as well as you think you should.
All I did was slow down on the highway, coast down hills in neutral and turn off my engine at lights. I'm saving about 15% or 2 gallons per tank. Just doing that I'm saving over $160 per year. The biggest cut was by watching what I'm doing and cutting back on number of trips in my car I have dropped my fuel consumption dramatically. So instead of running out to do something every day I only run my combined errands two days a week.
I use to fill up once a week now once every 17-18 days. So over all I have gone from spending $2,925 a year on fuel down to $1,207. The slight life style change made a huge difference in my fuel usage.
