I'm picking up a Prius and doing this. There's one near me that was wrecked in the rear, asking $600. 170,000 miles and good battery pack. It's a no brainier! I would LOVE to drop a VW Bug body over it (freebeard, eat your heart out) but I don't think it will fit in the Beetle's trunk. Will take measurements though. A Toyota Yaris might have better odds.

Look for my build thread soon, I'm serious. I'll be watching this build very closely of course.
