I went far beyond my college schooling about Gestalt, I sort of made things up a bit to test the waters and see if I could connect the dots.
Gestalt as I was taught was show a half a circle and people say -
hey, that's half a circle. The mind knows it's half a circle because it knows what a full whole circle should look like. Kind of confusing but also stupid obvious.
Gestalt might not be the best word for what I was attempting to describe, one would think there is a better or more specific science tapped into this, "group think" as you say.
I assume there is a huge cultural divide on such thinking, eastern or remote tribal thinking is bound to be different than western culture, right?
Some people may not see a square or circle unless it is perfectly drawn, their minds so limited to
"either is, either not".
Sort of like trying to figure out a typo or bad spelling, some people cannot figure out the word with even a single letter missing or misplaced.
Others can come up with 20 better words and fly right by the mistake embracing the concept being conveyed without judgement or condemnation.
