I fear it may just combine the disadvantages of motorcycles with the disadvantages of cars, like a sidecar motorcycle - except nobody waves at you...

One of my uncles had a Messerschmitt when he was young. It was a giggle, but also a real PITA, and he was only too happy to dump it for something vaguely carlike (a MG convertible IIRC, lots of problems with that too, but no regrets) when he got the chance.

I've been a biker for 18 years. And being a biker means you're a car driver when you drive a car, obviously, but you're a biker when you read the newspaper or lie in your bed or whatever.
I sold my bikes because I'm still alive and want to stay alive for a while. I've seen enough attempts to change that. No more - for now.
The Acrimoto doesn't yield bike creds. So it has to be better than a car in some way. I can't see that.
I'd say it's quite a bit more visible than a bike, it also is more protective although I doubt anyone ever wears a helmet in one. Still no laying it down or going over the bars. It's going to kill some people in any kind of even city speed head-on with a pickup or SUV but I bet it's statistics end up better than motorcycles, and even pedal bikes used for commuting. Around here a motorcycle is like a 4-5 month thing, this should be good for at least 8-9. One of their cabins, a garage, and some kind of heater would make it almost any day short of a major snowfall that will ground a bunch of other cars as well.
I would love to have one, my problem would be when I drive it to work and park it outside it would be hard on those batteries in the winter. I probably could get access to an outlet in the back lot and make some kind of heat blanket for them. For me really it would be mostly a toy, and unfortunately I can't afford toys that expensive yet. There are plenty of folks who a $15,000 toy is nothing. Pretty common price on most of the new motorcycles I see cruising around and they are also nothing but toys.
