I can tell you how it is driving one with the IMA disabled: It's dangeruosly slow and it takes the fun right out of owning an Insight. I killed the IMA in Ron Burgundy when I discharged it too low, and as cool as that car was it still wasn't cool enough to keep after that!
It's why I drive a Volt now
