Fly ash makes great concrete and asphalt.
Fly ash in concrete isn't just a filler. It's what's known as a pozzolanic cement. It chemically reacts with the quick lime in the cement just like the efflorescent cement.
Blends of efflorescent and pozzolanic cement make high strength concrete used to make roads, bridges, tall buildings, wind tubines, dams, waste waste water treatment ponds, ect.
