A maintenance guy at my previous job told me to take his crescent wrench and walk down the stairs from the 2nd story to the 1st, near the superconducting silicon ingot "pullers". The wrench resisted movement as I held it out from me, and I still have no idea how that works.

Had a death grip on the thing since procedure is to remove all ferrous metal before entering the room, and one guy had a jack get away from him and destroy some protective railing. I'd hate to delay 100,000 Intel chips because I was goofing off with magnets.
