The problem with democracy is that every idiot's opinion is equally weighted. Still, it's probably better than dictatorships in most cases.
I don't really care if executive office is voted by popular, or electoral college. All I care is that the federal government get out of about 85% of the junk they have no business being involved in, and for the executive branch of the federal government to be far more restricted.
If the federal government were properly sized, and the executive branch sufficiently restrained in authority, there would not be much reason to care who's in office as their agenda wouldn't matter much.
