I don't get how directing pressurized air at the wheels is supposed to improve aero efficiency?

Nothing I hate worse than faux aero and cooling treatments. Can't wait until the ubergrill fad has passed. Hoping the Model 3 exterior design philosophy becomes popular and kills the other nonsense.
