There is a stop sign in Toronto which most people roll through. When I first started riding a motorcycle, I did it by the book, and stopped there. I got hit twice in two days. The second time I found myself sitting on the pavement, back against a grille, with my bike in the intersection, I just picked it up and got out of the way.
