Depends on the car. I used to drive Uber in a Saab 9-3 Aero near Toronto with a turbo and manual tx. Passengers loved the ride because it was super comfy inside and I got lots of positive comments regarding the manual tx. Most people my age or younger can't drive standard so they think it's cool.

OP should look at a G2 Insight with 100k miles.
- Batteries don't usually go bad until past 200K
- Car is totally undervalued on craigslist because no one wants one
- Just don't buy a 2012 or a 2013
- Some very simple and cheap mods let it get Prius MPGs
