I think it comes down to selling to dumbed down people. You would think they would realize that those people want the auto.
Apparently 6th gear pulls is more important than mpg.
Honda really needs to do a modern day CRX HF. If they could get 65 mpg 30+ years ago with a carb, they could do better now.
