Note: the Camry only gets a 52 mpg rating in its lowest trim, LE. The XLE and SE hybrid are rated 46 mpg. The LE probably slots into a lower weight class, since it squeaks in under 3500 lbs while the XLE and SE are above that, so the correction factor applied to the final result is more generous. Same thing happens with the Prius LE Eco vs. all the other trims.
