I've read about this before, but it's the first time seeing the substructure and mention of Aerogel.
Not sure why they would be using Aerogel, normally it's used for it's insulating thermal properties. Maybe the 3D printed plastics requires thermal protection from freezing (altitude/climate) and overheating (sun/speed)?
